FAST has the expertise and capabilities to produce copper-based alloy fasteners.
Silicon bronze usually contains about 96 percent copper.
The remainder may be silicon alone, but more often a little manganese, tin, iron, or zinc is also added.
These alloys were developed originally for the chemical industry because of their exceptional resistance to corrosion in many liquids.
Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc; the proportions of zinc and copper can be varied to create a range of brasses with varying properties.
In comparison, bronze is principally an alloy of copper and tin. Despite this distinction, some types of brasses are called bronzes.
The addition of tin increases the materials resistance to corrosion in marine and mildly acidic environments.
